brother bear, i let you down
you trusted me, believed in me and i let you down

nobody ever talks about the time when Disney made a movie where the main character killed the other main character’s mother because of prejudice and misunderstanding

and then he learns how wrong he was

why doesn’t anyone talk about this movie?

You mean the Disney movie that doesn’t focus on romance in the slightest and is entirely about family love and learning about yourself and seeing the error of your ways?  That one? That fucking golden movie?

I pray everyday that Square Enix will include Brother Bear as a Kingdom Hearts world… everyday…

Some quick pictures of a little recent personal project—

Emily Rodda’s Rowan of Rin was my absolute favorite book as a kid, and I found myself rereading it at the beginning of the year. I still adore the cast of characters in the Rowan series, but my favorite has always been Rowan himself. I wanted to make a small book sleeve that captured a little bit of the magic of the first book with some images that appear in the story itself: the red wall of the mountain, the map, a wheel of cheese (!)

I was worried about the colors printing too dark, but they turned out really nice. I’m happy with the result!

Half-Mourning Dress
1910-1912
The Victoria & Albert Museum

What’s a “half-mourning” dress?  Mourning in the front, party in the back?

Half-Mourning was the third stage of mourning for a widow. She would be expected to mourn her husband for at least two years, the stages being Full Mourning, Second Mourning and Half-Mourning. The different stages regulated what they would be wearing, with Full Mourning being all black and with no ornamentation, including the wodow’s veil, and the stages after that introducing some jewellery and modest ornamentation. When in Half-Mourning you would gradually include fabrics in other colors and sort of ease your way out of mourning.
Wow, I am happy you made that joke so I could interpert it as a serious question and have an excuse to ramble on about clothing customs of the past, I am a historical fashion nerd.

That’s very informative, but I’m going to stick with my original head canon:

I love both the informed fashion history and the hilariously off-the-wall halves of this post.

Progress in TPP:C so far…

It took 10 minutes to talk to AJ’s mum, over 3 hours to reach Cherrygrove City (resulting in the Totodile affectionately named Lazor Gator, to reach level 11), and now our wayward hero AJDNNW travels through Route 30 to reach Mr Pokemon’s house…
